My favorite thing at nursery school is making a tower and a princess castle. I like to play with the dinosaurs. My favorite place to be is nursery school. I feel sad when I can't go to nursery school. I learn how to count and read. I like the climbing gym.

Children of preschool age learn best from a multi-sensory approach, where the whole environment is arranged on the idea of "learning by doing". The program of the Hurley Nursery School is designed to provide the children with balanced but varied experiences. Each well-planned day provides for both active and quiet play. The children are given many opportunities to learn using such materials as: Blocks, paints, puzzles, books, clay, water, climbing apparatus and small manipulative toys. Many daily activities contribute to the development in the areas of reading, arts, math, social studies, science, music and drama. Outdoor play, field trips, and sound nutrition are other vital aspects of the program. Hurley Nursery School supports New York State law prohibiting teachers from administering medications of any kind.

My Grown Up and Me: This one hour weekly class provides a wonderful introduction to nursery school. Your child will experience all the excitement of a nursery school environment with the security of a familiar adult. Classes are held Tuesday from 10:45 a.m to 11:45 a.m. Children must be two years old, by December 1st.
2 -Day session: Children on their own for the first time will be introduced to a structured environment with many opportunities to explore and play. Classes are held every Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Children must be three years old, by December 1st and toilet trained.
3 - Day sessions: An enriching environment is provided for the pre-kindergarten child. Children are exposed to a more structured routine in preparation for kindergarten. Play is still a primary objective for the day. This class is also open to three year olds that turn four by May 31st of the enrolling school year. Classes are held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Children must toilet trained.
5 - Day sessions: Provides the same structured routine as 3-day but is offered 5 afternoons from 12:30-3:00 p.m. Children must be four years old by December 1st and toilet trained.
Universal Pre-K: Offered during the 5-day session from 12:30-3:00 p.m.
Early drop off and late pick up is available for a fee for 2-day, 3-day, and 5-day programs. Early drop off begins 15 minutes before the start of class and late pick up is 15 minutes after the normal dismissal time.
A non-refundable application fee of $25.00 is required at the the time of registration. Tuition is calculated on a yearly basis and is divided into 10 monthly installments. A security deposit of one month's tuition is due upon enrollment to secure your child's place in a class. This deposit will serve as the June tuition and is not refundable.
